Turning 50

In one month from today, I will turn the big 5 0 (May 7).  I am very excited! I know there are alot of people who wouldn’t be, but I have a lot of reasons for being excited!

Age 0-20

I had an awesome childhood.  I grew up in big family with two parents who lovingly cared for us. We traveled to different places, played outside with friends, went to church, ate dinner at home. Learned respect and social skills, how to fight, cry when I couldn’t fight, fall in love and out of love.  Made an awesome circle of friends, went to college, learned to drive, learned to work.

Age 20-30

This was not the greatest time of my life.  I made some bad choices (children, marriage, divorce), in that order. Things I’m not real proud of. But if I had not made these choices, I wouldn’t have my two wonderful daughters and grandson.  I wouldn’t have learned what I like and don’t like in a relationship.

Age 30-40

Life is hard as a single mom with two small children.  But I was always independent and positive. I went back to school (Teacher), I worked two or three jobs( workaholic), I provided for my girls, raised them to believe they could be anything they wanted as long as they worked hard for it and did whatever it took to make sure we survived.  

Age 40-50

This is the best part of my life so far.   My girls grew up, I was blessed with a wonderful grandson, I became a great teacher ( with experience, of course), I worked as a summer camp counselor (which I love, 5 years), I became a Children’s Author (published), I take adventures, go places, travel out of the country (Honduras mission trip).  I make sure to be intentional with everything I do; consistent, routine and self-discipline.

Age 50+

I want to make an impact!  I want to make someone feel like their the most important person in the room at that very moment.  I want to encourage, inspire, love, motivate, influence, share wisdom and knowledge, play, be bold, fearless and brave!

 

Turning 50 will be so awesome most importantly because  I don’t look 50 and I certainly do not feel 50. I believe the latter part of my life will be so awesome and I’m glad you’re a part of it.  Thanks for sharing it with me!
