October is a hard month for me. I want to celebrate being a breast cancer survivor/thriver, but I hate how it came about. I also hate how everyone tries to explain how it happens to you, but no one really knows. I hate how I want to support others, but don’t like hearing about it. I do know it’s different for everyone, including me.
I know that God has healed me, and now I follow a holistic protocol for prevention. I also know that being healthy is the most important way to prevent recurrence. Keeping my immune system healthy is very important to me. This includes: a healthy meal plan (Mine: protein-rich foods with complex carbs and vegetables, including drinking water and teas), weighted workouts with walking, getting 7-8 hours of sleep, and reducing stress.
Your health is your wealth. Most of us will live to see 80 to 90+ years. Have you really thought about what you’re going to look like 30-40+ years from now? You should! What you do right now and how you build your body will be what your future will look like.
If you eat unhealthily and don’t exercise now, your future will likely require numerous doctor’s appointments and prescription medications. Can you afford that? Is that really how you want to live? In my opinion, every disease or prescription can be eliminated with healthy food, herbs, tea, or supplements. As you age, moving around, walking, or even sitting will become increasingly difficult for you. You may require long-term care and not be well enough to live the life you want.
I stopped trying to figure out why I got cancer, even though I was doing healthy things. Now I just do whatever is necessary to prevent it from coming back. I wish I knew all that I know now when my mom had cancer. She passed before I got mine. If she were still here, I would have her do the same protocol I’m doing to give her more time here and a healthier future. I wouldn’t let her suffer with all those medications as she did. But that was not the case.
I’m glad I got to see what she went through so I could do the opposite. I refused radiation and hormone therapy because of what I saw it did to her. I take no prescription drugs, not even headache medication. I use herbs and teas, brewer’s yeast, and a multi-vitamin. With a lot of trial and error, I had to figure out what worked for me. I have settled on this protocol for now because it works. I am 2 years cancer-free.
To all my brothers and sisters out here who are fighting, surviving, thriving, just know that I believe in your healing and send you many blessings of love, comfort, and strength.
To those whom they love, fight with them by fighting for yourselves and your health. Find what you will do and what works for you. Research everything, that’s what I did. Your health will keep you here to fight alongside us in the true spirit of why we wear Pink!
