Hey Dads!

Happy Father’s Day!  I hope you have the best day ever.  I hope you enjoy whatever crazy gift your family gives you and you know how important you are.

I say this with a grieving heart though. My dad is in heaven and Father’s day never gets easier. Sometimes I wish I could just forget about it since he’s not here. But there are so many other great Dads to celebrate today and you’re one of them!

Thank you for spending time with us. Thank you for not yelling at us when we are holding the light when you are trying to work on your car! Thank you for teaching us how to change the oil and tires on the car. Thank you for buying all the cool and delicious snacks. Thank you for making us watch sports, play sports and be a good sport. Thank you for answering the phone when we call with “What do you need?” and following through. Thank you for taking us on cool vacations and buying things we didn’t really need just because. Thank you for sharing your war stories, family stories and reading us stories at bedtime. Thank you for making up games to play with us. Thank you for teaching us that duct tape (“gray tape”) fixes everything. Thank you for your hugs and telling us that you love us. Thank you for the life you live to the best of your ability and making the most of as many moments as you can! Those mean a lot.

Dads, I know raising children is hard but it’s also fun.  Just remember, you are teaching us how valuable we are, how we are to be loved by a future husband, how to be independent and take care of ourselves, how to have a good work ethic and how to love and appreciate our Moms!

Your job is a great one, ENORMOUS!  But you are loved and appreciated! Not just today, but everyday! Thanks Dads!
