cancer, Death, Live in the moment, loss

Time Spent

This week I re-experienced the emotions of the death of a loved one. A colleague of mine passed away after being diagnosed with cancer. She was in the hospital getting treatments. It was sudden, her body couldn’t take it anymore.

She was young and left behind her husband, a teenage daughter and a 6-month old baby. As well as her mom, dad, sisters and other family members. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

This death reminded me of my parents passing and the cancer I had. Emotions of sadness and loss flooded my body. Close death and sickness is always a reminder for me. People say that you just get over it or it goes away. But it never does.

It is a reminder of our little time on earth. Life can be taken away at any moment. We must live life and love God and others. We have to stop thinking that we have all this time because we don’t.

Spend time with those who love you and you love, spend time doing the things you love, spend time exploring and experiencing new things, go on adventures by yourself and with others, make new friends, get a new job, or start over.

Just know that whatever you do, don’t waste time thinking about it or putting it off. Just go for it! How you spend your time is the most precious thing! It’s priceless!
