We hear a lot about how to detox your body from food toxins you have put into it for years. But what about toxins you put into your mind through trying to change your body into something that it should never be.
We are all created differently! Our body shapes and sizes fit us the way God created us to be. Now with that being said, we have, as a society, allowed our bodies to be misused by over-eating, under-eating, no workout, some workout and extreme workouts. But more recently, we have allowed social media to teach us habits that don’t work for everyone.
Because we are different and created differently, there is no one way that treats everyone’s body shape and size. SHOCKER, I know! It’s not that the person telling you is wrong or what they did to change their own body doesn’t work, but that they aren’t YOU! It may not work for you.
STOP listening to everyone and doing everything they’re doing! You are creating habits that will ruin your body and cause medical problems that you may not ever recover from. Just because it worked for them, doesn’t mean it will work for you.
Well, you may ask, “What can I do?” Detox! Detox from all the social media that tells you what to do, drink, eat, and workout. I had to. I realized that I follow a lot of people who used or didn’t use products, diets or workouts they were pushing that didn’t fit me or work for me. I have a coach! A great coach! But because I forget that my life is a journey and not a race, I am always looking for something extra. I need to stop and trust the process, the Journey!
So, I’m practicing what I preach. I’m detoxing social media followings, too. What I am doing right now is working for me. I’m in Diet Recovery with my coach, virtually. I eat mindfully and workout mindfully. I am able to enjoy my life to the fullest and that makes me happy.
