Tell Me About Yourself

I’ve been interviewing for teaching positions in another county.  One of the questions they ask me is to Tell Me About Yourself.  I have a hard time with this question because I see it as being boastful instead of promoting myself to the interviewer.

So I decided to use the affirmations in my classroom that I say with my students to promote myself academically.

I love my students! I love them with all my heart! I fight for them, protect them and lead them.

I believe in them!  I believe that nothing is impossible if you try.

I believe in destiny, their destiny!  They are destined for great things.

I don’t give up!  I don’t let them give up either.  We get better with practice and practice makes us better.

I’m so proud of them! They accomplish so much in a year! They grow tremendously, socially, physically and academically.

I am purposed and so are my students! We are all born with a great future in mind, a future I get to be a part of.

I am a great Teacher;  loving, honest, fearless, trustworthy, a leader, solutionist and listener.

When thinking about this question for yourself, think about your philosophy. Why you teach!
