When I opened my devotional.
I saw the message I’d written
The one where you left.

When I opened my bible.
I read the scriptures about
The seen and the unseen.

Dad, I thought about you today,
When another one of your daughters
Wrote about missing you and
What you meant to her and us.

Dad, I thought about you today,
When I didn’t want to because
It make me sad
And tears flow.

Dad, I thought about you today,
When I couldn’t stop thinking
About how you left
and why.

Dad, I thought about you today,
When I know where you are
And that Mom is there with you
And you’re looking down, loving us
And missing us too!
