I know this sounds silly, but Squirrels don’t make very good choices. This morning on my way to church, a Robin Red-breast decided to hang out in the street. As I got closer, it wouldn’t move. Finally, I got really close, slowed down and it flew away! I yelled, “Don’t be a squirrel!”
Squirrels are dare devils! This type of lifestyle costs them their lives. They can’t make up their minds. They know they want to cross the road, but maybe they forgot why or they forgot something or they got tired or changed their minds. They don’t make good choices. It not only affects their lives, but other lives as well.
Make a choice, any choice. Go with your gut! Keep going! Don’t turn back, keep moving forward! Don’t let your past keep you from moving forward. Don’t think about what could’ve been or should’ve been. Don’t look back! The choices you make affect other people! Think before you choose. You have two choices: right or wrong! Don’t choose the wrong one unless you’re willing to pay the consequences.
Believe in yourself! Have a positive day! Make an impact! Choose to be a light that shines so bright we need sunglasses! Love, be kind, have patience, be gentle, show grace and mercy to others, give peace, have joy, be faithful, be good and think before you choose!
Don’t be a Squirrel!
Galatians 5:22-25
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is not law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
